Funny, funny movie that is a better take on Nixon than JFK was on - well - JFK, which I didn't see, I'm just saying. Tuesday, August 27, 2002 ( 3:58 PM ) by David Barker I had to change templates because the HTML bold tags weren't being displayed on the old one, which was kind of stupid (Hello, Blogger guys). I hate the purple but I like the layout, so I will play with it. Patience, my friends. And courage. ( 10:08 AM ) by David Barker Hurray for Musical Science! MC Hawking, one of whose albums is 'E=MC Hawking'...ye-es, that Hawking. Thanks to Winnie Wong for the link. And the laughs. (If I had homies, she'd be one. Probably just as well then.) Except that Tripod are @ssh*les and limit access by bandwith usage, so be patient, or just say 'scr-&z.schwa;-w Tripod'. The page looks very promising but Tripod are pulling the old 'bait, switch and sodomize' trick, like Telus mobile phone service in Canada and others elsewhere. Saturday, August 17, 2002 ( 6:29 PM ) by David Barker Then there was the famous lost episode of 'Bananas in Pyjamas.' It was Tuesday on Cuddles Avenue, and the Teddies were scared because every Tuesday was the day for the Bananas to kill and eat Teddies. That's why there were only three left. So Morgan, Lulu and Amy went to the Rat in the Hat's shop to ask him to help. Rat took all the calendars and cut out all the Tuesdays. Then he gave the calendars to the Teddies to take home with them. The Teddies were overjoyed because it would never be Tuesday on Cuddles Avenue again! When the Bananas came to try to trick and trap a Teddy to kill and eat, the Teddies showed them the calendars with no Tuesdays at all. Now the Bananas were sad because they could never kill and eat a Teddy on Tuesday again, so they went to the Rat in the Hat's shop to see if he could help. Rat took all the Tuesdays that he had cut out of all the calendars and glued them all together so that every day was Tuesday on Cuddles Avenue. That's why there's only three Teddies left on Cuddles Avenue, and why this episode was only ever broadcast once. The bootleg is very valuable. New York Copyright E. P. Dutton & Co. 1898 ( 11:59 AM ) by David Barker THE LAND OF COUNTERPANE When I was sick and lay a-bed, I had two pillows at my head, And all my toys beside me lay To keep me happy all the day. And sometimes for an hour or so I watched my leaden soldiers go, With different uniforms and drills, Among the bed-clothes, through the hills; And sometimes sent my ships in fleets All up and down among the sheets; Or brought my trees and houses out, And planted cities all about. I was the giant great and still That sits upon the pillow-hill, And sees before him, dale and plain, The pleasant land of counterpane. -Robert Louis Stevenson from "A Child's Garden of Verses" ( 10:56 AM ) by David Barker Maze Stuff - pretty basic but interesting...
